Bed Bug Preparation
Following these guidelines will help your technician provide the highest quality application procedures. These steps will
also ensure that the treated areas do not become re-infested after service.  It is important that you do your part, so
that we can take care of the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Should you have any questions regarding
this checklist, please contact one of our qualified technicians.
All clothing, sheets, pillows, and washable materials should be cleaned in HOT
water the day before the procedure. After the materials have been washed put
them in the dryer on HIGH for at least 20 minutes.  Do not put the clean clothes
back into the bags that were used to transport the laundry, they may have bed
bugs/eggs in them that would re-infest the materials.  Put them into new bags and
make sure you close them tightly.  Do not bring them back into the infected area
until after the treatment.
(Please check the care instructions on washable items)
The mattresses, box springs, floors/carpets, bed frames, sofas and baseboards , as
well as any other infected furniture should be vacuumed to remove any bed bugs
and their eggs.  Make sure that the vacuum bag is emptied and taken out of the
area immediately to prevent cross contamination.  We recommend using mattress
and box spring covers that the bed bugs cannot penetrate.  The mattresses and
box spring should be taken off the bed frame and stood up against the wall prior to
treatment.  This enables the technician to access all areas that need to be treated
more efficiently, especially the bed frame.  Any clutter that is also in the area
should be removed from the floor and surrounding area.  The technician will want
to treat as many areas as possible, but does not want to be inhibited by items that
shouldn't be treated.  The Floors should only have the furniture on it!
All dressers and nightstands should be emptied so that the technician can treat them
as well.  Drawers should be taken out and laid out onto to floor for easy access to the
inside of the furniture.  The clothing in these drawers should be treated as outlined
above.  All other articles should be put into bags that can be closed tightly.
The closet in the affected area should be emptied similarly to the other furniture.  It
is important that there is nothing on the floor so that this area can be treated as well.
